The state archaeological department has already sent an order to the Tikona Peth gram panchayat in Maval and Pune rural police regarding this, and have also stated that legal action will be initiated against those found violating this rule.
Maharashtra State Tourism Development Department (MTDC) initially set up tents there to facilitate the stay of visitors on the hilltop, to experience the culture, history, and heritage at the Tikona Fort. Situate around 60 km from Pune, this initiative received a good response from the visitors.
Also, because of the fort’s proximity to Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune, it received a huge number of visitors for night stay. However, due to a lack of sanitation facilities, the authorities started getting numerous complaints, which eventually compelled the authorities to invoke this action.
