According to a new survey, The Great Wall of China has emerged as the most popular of the Seven Wonders of the World for Indians. The reason for this is the massive drop in the flight ticket price for China from India. The Great Wall of China is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built way back in the 7th century.
Agra was found to be the most important of Indian destinations for Indian tourists. Of course, it is mainly due to yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Taj Mahal. It was noted that people mostly booked trains to travel to Agra from Varanasi, Delhi, and Vijaywada.
The survey also suggested that the most affordable of destinations abroad were Petra in Jordan, and the Great Pyramid in Egypt. On the other hand, the Incan Citadel of Machu Picchu in Peru was found to have scored the lowest in terms of popularity. This was mainly due to the fact that its distance from India is further, and air tickets are a lot more expensive.
