Saudi Arabia has now revealed 19 offences related to public decency to notify travellers, as it gets ready to welcome foreign tourists. The Saudi Arabia public decency code comes after its Interior Ministry had made the decision to launch Saudi Arabia visa, permitting travels from 49 countries around the world.
According to a government media statement, “The regulations are meant to ensure that visitors and tourists in the Kingdom are aware of the law relating to public behavior so that they comply with it.”
Your fines could range from $13 to $1600, depending on the violation.
The new Saudi Arabia public decency code also forbids racism, hate, discrimination, alongside indecent behaviour. Acts of sexual nature are also a strict no-no, and fine could be doubled for any second violation. Also, you cannot play loud music in a residential area without a license, and the fine is $133. Moreover, you cannot wear clothes with language, images, or even symbols that promote any sort of discrimination, racism, drug use, or pornography.
