One of the most important historical cities of India, Patna is a buzzing city with lots of sights. Places to visit in Patna are varied in nature and cater to every type of travellers. Patna points of interests are both historical and have a heritage value to it. The capital of Bihar, Patna is located on the south bank of the Ganges, and is an attraction for those interested in understanding the ethos of Bihar. Patna combined the old world with the new to create some of the best cultural exposures in India. Places to visit in Patna have remnants of the old world, natural splendours, and more.
Patna also has religious places popularly visited by pilgrims, and one such is the Sikh religious site, Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji. The Gurudwara was built way back around 1837, and is dedicated to Guru Gobind Singh. Patna happens to be the birthplace of the Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh, and is much revered by Sikhs all over the world. This beautiful looking shrine is a wonderful point of interest in Patna, and it is very much a part of Indian religious history. The Gurudwara also consists of Sikh scriptures, and is a place of much interest for tourists.
Gandhi Maidan is yet another place of interest here in Patna. It is located right in the heart of the city, and is a place where you will find the world’s tallest Mahatma Gandhi statue. The maidan or field is all of 62 acres, and is a great place for a morning walk or jog. A place of much interest, this is where many political rallies are held, and man groundbreaking speeches are given. You can try playing a game of cricket here with friends and family, it is open for all.
Patna is home to a diverse lot of people, as a true reflection of India, and it is a great place to understand the history and culture of eastern India. Here in Patna you can come for a vacation, and enjoy some historical sightseeing in and around the place. As you know, Bihar is home to Buddhism, and Gautam Buddha meditated at Bodh Gaya, so you have the opportunity to travel to these amazing old-world places, and experience things that are unique and astonishing. Places to visit in Patna are definitely some of the best experiences you can have, so why not enjoy a vacation here in this old world of eastern India.
