This magnificent temple of Lord Shiva is a must visit. You are instantly in awe of the mighty boundary walls and two-tier roof of this beautiful place of worship. It was a pleasant 25 km drive to the temple. The absence of a flagstaff is a unique feature of this temple. The temple signifies the unity of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, and hence Lord Krishna is worshipped first, before Lord Shiva. Read less

It was a pleasant 25 km drive to the temple. The absence of a flagstaff is a unique feature of this temple. The temple signifies the unity of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, and hence Lord Krishna is worshipped first, before Lord Shiva. Women are allowed in the sanctum sanctorum only post 8 pm in traditional attire. This is when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are said to be together. Men can visit during the daytime in traditional clothes only. The temple is open to the public from 5 am to 12 pm and reopens again at 5:30 pm and remains open until 8:30 pm.
