Get to India’s longest drive-in beach early to enjoy an uninterrupted drive along its 4 km stretch. Located around 15.5km from Kannur, the beach gets crowded in the evening with numerous cars and bikes. It can also get difficult to meander between people enjoying a swim at the beach. Every drive-in beach lover will be present during the annual beach festival. Dharmadam Island (a private beach for which permission is required) is at a walking distance. We, however, did manage to drive on the beach at night under a blanket of stars—an amazing experience and highly recommended. Drive close to the shore and avoid speeding as the car could stall in the water (the locals are always helpful in fishing your car out).
