Assam gets a premium tea lounge to introduce you to different shades of tea

Assam finally gets a premium tea lounge that will give you access to a variety of Assam tea, all under one roof. The lounge has been named as The GTAC Tea Lounge and will be run by the governing body of Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC).

Recently inaugurated by the Assam Chief Minister, the said lounge will be a one-stop destination to get garden fresh and authentic Assam tea. This premium tea lounge will have two sections; in one section, people will be able to taste different varieties of tea, including CTC, Orthodox, Oolong, White, Yellow, and other seasonal items. You can get tea collected from different regions of the Brahmaputra and Barak Valley in Assam; it will be available for retail purchase as well as consumption too.
GTAC was established in 1970 and is the largest tea auction centre in India. Referring to this development, the Chairman of GTAC tea lounge trust stated that this particular tea lounge is expected to attract the younger generation toward tea drinking habits, including both hot and iced tea options.
Secretary of the Tea Association of India mentioned that apart from being an exquisite showcase for an array of Assam tea, this lounge will soon become a must-visit for tea connoisseurs and tourists from around the world. It will also enlighten people about the different blends of Assam tea.
If we look at the numbers, Assam is the second largest producer of commercial tea in the world after Southern China.
