Come peak vacation time, the issue with landing at some of the famous cities is that it can appear as if you are on a vacation with the world. Although you may have dreamt of relaxing on the spacious beach in Barcelona, and enjoying a breezy descent on the Spanish Steps in Rome, the probability of striving to get a slip of sand at the former and shoving with selfie sticks at the latter is high. If you are curious to know what those bustling tourist spots are, here’s a look at the most crowded tourist destinations.

Residents of this picturesque Italian city are slowly migrating to better places, complaining Venice is overpopulated by tourists. Locals that are frustrated with this issue are looking up to anti-tourist campaigns to reduce the impact of overcrowding on tourism
Amsterdam

In order to prevent Amsterdam from losing its attractiveness overload on the infrastructure, and damage to the cultural and national heritage, in 2016, the concerned authorities designed new policies to tackle overcrowding.
Netherland

While the prison cells in Netherland continue to remain vacant, the city is getting thronged by tourists. The Dutch city, however, plans to promote alternative tourist attractions and encourage visitors to blend the way they go sightseeing.
Dubrovnik

Game of Thrones popularised this Croatian city, and that’s how it made way to the list of overcrowded places. The city mayor thought of a plan to resolve this issue. In order to de-populate Dubrovnik’s ancient centre, which faced a risk of losing its ‘world heritage site’ status, a cap of 4,000 persons would be put by 2019.
Kuala Lumpur and Macau

Both these cities are immensely popular these days, and hence, have crossed the threshold of overcrowding. While, Kuala Lumpur is dealing with a degraded tourist experience due to overcrowding, Macau’s attractions are teeming with visitors.
