With more than 2000 m of elevation gain, climbing Ooty from Mysore side is the dream of many bikers around Bangalore. It is, arguably, the most scenic route as you ride through the national parks (Bandipur, Masinagudi and Mukurthi). Don't be surprised if you spot a wild animal while riding along this route. Choose your route depending on your fitness level, you can start from Mysore, Najangud, Bandipur or Gudalur. Scenic views of the hills and steep hairpin bends will welcome you throughout your ride. Though exhausting, you will end up on a happy note filled with great sense of achievement.
On day two, you can visit different tourist attractions in and around Ooty, such as Doddabetta Peak, botanical garden, and nearby lakes. You can also get back on the saddle to zoom down the same hill you climbed the previous day and just feel the wind in your hair. In case your plan is to extend the stay by one more day, an out and back ride to Kodanadu viewpoint can also be considered on the second day. It is better to avoid Ooty during peak season as vehicular movement is quite heavy during this time.
