The zoo also cares for many warm-blooded creatures, with hundreds of species represented, and is the home of Charles G. Hogg, also known as Staten Island Chuck—New York City's sometimes irascible groundhog-meteorologist, who predicts the length of winter, often with the help of the city's mayor, every February 2.
