Go to Kerala for a great time, and what better place than Munnar! The hill station of Munnar is just a little over 4 hours from Madurai, and is one of the best places to spend some quality time in. The hill station of Munnar as one of the largest tea-growing region is beautifully decorated by tea plantations. It is serene, pristine, and languid by all means, and as opposed to your average north-Indian hill stations, this is a clean hill station. Located in Idukki district, Munnar can present travellers with some amazing attractions. Head to the Tea Museum where you can get an in-depth look at the workings of a tea factory and learn a lot about tea in general. Look out for the Saint Anthony statue in Munnar town, which is a landmark here. Also visit the local bazaar for some fascinating items on sale, you can find some exquisite alcohol free perfumes that are worth your money.
