Egypt will be reopening select tourist destinations to international charter flights from July 1. This was announced by the cabinet recently; thereby allowing tourists to visit areas that are less hit by COVID-19 in the country. As per the latest news reports, other regular international flights will continue to remain suspended until further notice. Read less
The country is further offering incentives to attract tourists, such as a 20 per cent discount to visit landmarks and attractions, and removal of tourist visas to Egypt's touristic governorates until Oct. 31.
However, despite this being good news for tourists hoping to return for the summer holidays, COVID-19 cases are still on the rise in some regions.
Reportedly, a curfew is also still in place in the country, although it is being slowly lifted and is now imposed from 8 PM to 4 AM.
