According to a recent report, South Indian cities are the most sought after destinations for travellers in India, both domestic and international. The report suggested that during the first half of 2019, cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, and Chennai were the most preferred. The north Indian destinations that topped the list were New Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra.
The fastest growing cities according to the survey were Rishikesh, Varanasi, Tiruchchirappalli, Nedumbassery, and Munnar, during the first half of this year. The report has revealed that the tourist market of India is now growing, while thriving with opportunities. This has been made possible due to well-informed and conscious travellers, who are open to explore new destinations. Travellers are in fact looking for contemporary getaways, thanks to digital boom, and social media.
South India, of course, has some very interesting places, still relatively unexplored. While the state of Kerala has always enjoyed a vast number of domestic and international tourists, other states are now slowly seeing the boom.
