Move to Helsinki for your dream work-life balance

If you are thinking of taking a step further when it comes to exploring, are keen to have the perks of a full-time job as well, Helsinki is perhaps where you need to move to. There is little doubt in the fact that travelling is an expensive task and everyone bitten by the travel bug has felt the pinch, thus craving the security of a regular, full-time job as well.

Well, Finland’s capital, Helsinki bridges the gap between both the worlds quite well and has been ranked as the best city in the world’s for work-life balance for the past year. It was labelled the same as per the 2019 Work-Life Balance Index, which undertook a study across 40 of the world’s most attractive cities. It counted 20 different factors including liveability, work hours, work intensity, overtime work, number of leaves in a year, the participation of all genders in the workforce etc.


Finland has been a forerunner when it comes to striving for work-life balance and has facilities such as day-care centres, family leaves, stay at home option till your kid turns three, child-care centres, a number of official holidays, health insurance and medical care facilities, public healthcare, and more.
Helsinki was followed by Munich and Oslo in the same index.
