Located approximately 14 km south of Vienna, Mödling is a delight. The town is widely known for its famous underground lake, Seegrotte Hinterbrühl, on which you can take a boat ride. It has many levels and rooms inside it, where people actually came to celebrate! In World War 2 this place was drained by the Nazi’s after it overfilled and mining stopped. Once the Nazi’s drained it, they had prisoners from concentration camps to work here, in order to build secret aircrafts inside. Again, this place has been featured in many movies and is a unique historical place to visit. If you have an interest in history more than art, then this is the place to visit, instead of touring the museums of Vienna.
