If you wish to escape the humdrums of everyday life and relax amidst hills and greens, then Munnar is the perfect choice for you. Around 580 km away from Chennai, Munnar is the place where nature breathes in every corner. And this one certainly and thankfully is not ‘one-of-those buzzing with tourists’ hill station too. Here you can fill your lungs with fresh air and thank god for such amazingly stunning natural views. Dotted with aromatic tea plantations, this hill station once served as the summer resort to British elites. Once you are here, make sure that you visit the Eravikulam National Park which is home to endangered mountain goat Nilgiri tahr. Lakkam Waterfalls is also a part of this park. For those who love to hike, 2,695 m tall Anamudi Peak in Munnar is for them. The drive to Munnar from Chennai is long for sure but it’s completely worth it.
