Amid all this, a small village in Uttar Pradesh is in the limelight for all the wrong reasons, that too, for its name! The location
The villagers are complaining of being ridiculed for the name of the village and are being treated as pariahs. A number of villagers also said that their relatives have now started mocking them and the village by saying they will never visit Korauna ever.
Religious significance
Not many are aware of the fact that Korauna is also the first halt in the 84-Kosi Parikrama. This is a pilgrimage undertaken by thousands, a fortnight after the festival of Holi, every year. But this year, because of the virus outbreak, the religious yatra was also cancelled.
