Meet Evelyn Rose Woods, a five-month-old infant who has travelled more than most of us! At such a young age, this little traveller is all to become the youngest person to have visited all 50 states in the USA. Born in California to Jenna and Ryan Woods, the high school sweethearts, Evelyn is probably the happiest traveller with her own RV!
After the birth of Evelyn on 26 January, 2019, the couple read a story of an infant, who travelled 50 states in 6 months. The tale inspired them to take the decision and also gave them a timeline and a goal. They wanted to have a similar experience as a family.
As mentioned by Ryan Woods, the main challenge for them was to drive an RV. Also, they were planning to take on the journey with an infant and a dog, which made their task more challenging. The family travelled on a strict budget, barely ate out, and survived mostly on peanut butter sandwiches. They would even stay at free rest stops overnight to save money.
Their trip officially began on March 17, when their daughter was only 1.5 months old. They visited Nevada, Utah, Colorado and Arizona (closer to California) with the baby and the dog. They kept sharing their experiences, including happy moments and difficulties they faced during the trip, on their social media profile. Somehow, they braved all the challenges and managed the trip with beautiful memories.
Now, the family is planning their second journey back through all the 50 states, which will be called Twice by Two, wherein they will be spending two weeks in each American state!
