This medieval Cistercian Abbey is one of the most impressive and offbeat ruins in the country. It is situated in the midst of vast parkland on the banks of River Aire. Pack a picnic and feast on sandwiches, milkshakes, and cookies once you’re done exploring the Abbey. Once you’re satiated, walk along one of the designated trails in the area. All trails offer amazing views of the Yorkshire countryside. It’s easy to take a cab back to the city center even late at night.
