Nestled in the North Eastern part of England, Leeds would have been just another English city had it not been home to one of England’s best and most popular universities – University of Leeds. The fact that it’s a university city makes it stand out amidst its neighbours. It also lends the entire town an extremely youthful character. The city is strewn with clubs, bars, restaurants, shopping centers, and nightclubs aimed at twenty somethings. Even weekdays seem like weekends in this vibrant city. Leeds is also the gateway to some of the most gorgeous countryside escapes in England. It’s easy to go hiking, trekking, camping, or glamping (glamorous camping for the uninitiated) around Leeds. If you’re not the outdoorsy sort, there is enough to keep you busy as well. There is no shortage of picturesque English villages, full of tearooms and riverside walks, here as well. You must put Leeds on your itinerary of England when you visit the country.
