Kashmir, Himachal to see light rain showers, snowfall today

As per the weather reports, more snowfall and light rain is in store for Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh today. The meteorological department predicted this on account of the Western disturbance over North Pakistan. This is in addition to news reports of considerable snowfall at a number of places in the valley as well as the state of Himachal. Uttarakhand can heave a sigh of relief for now as the weather condition would be dry for the day.

This development has also led to harsh cold conditions over the plains as well, including Delhi, Rajasthan and Punjab. As a result, temperature readings would take a dip in the capital as well as the surrounding areas at night. It is expected that day temperature would stay 4-6 degrees below normal in the region.
IMC has also predicted cold waves to sweep over the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Chattisgarh in spite of clear, sunny days. It states the same for Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Odisha. Northeast India is also expected to see light rain as well as snow in the upper reaches of Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.
