All of us fear baggage theft at the airport; of course, it can give you major headaches and potentially ruin your vacation. Thankfully, there now is a new baggage theft system put in place that promises to protect your baggage from getting stolen. According to reports, researchers have developed a smart system that is going to help prevent baggage theft, while at the same time help in collecting your baggage without much hassle.
According to the team of researchers, who have developed the smart system from the Lovely Professional University, baggage theft is still quite an issue at airports, despite the tight security. Also, the team has noted how baggage handling during departure is more intense, whereas baggage handling during arrival is not an evolved process. Also, the time taken at arrival to collect baggage is painstakingly longer.
According to Société Internationale de Télécommunications Aéronautiques (SITA), which is the biggest IT specialist for aviation, an estimated 40 bags get mishandled every minute worldwide. The new technology could change this and help passengers travel without any added hassle.
