The Karnataka Government in a move to boost tourism in the city has decided to replicate the famous Times Square of New York in Bengaluru. It has been reported that the Residency Road and Brigade Road in Bengaluru is all ready to undergo and witness this dramatic revamping, i.e., developing Bengaluru Square into a major tourist and entertainment hub in the city.
Major R Sampath Raj, referring about this development said, “We want the city to have a Bengaluru Square similar to Times Square. We are planning it at the entrance of Brigade Road. Bengaluru is fast becoming a global city, and there should be something to celebrate that. We have asked Swati Ramanathan, the brain behind TenderSURE, to start working on a detailed project report.”

As per a survey carried out by a consultant, Hyderabad and Bengaluru acquire the two top positions in the list 30 global short-term growth cities. The annual global report of City Momentum Index (CMI) 2018 ranked these Indian cities on the basis of short-term growths.
The other Indian cities that made it to the list are Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai. The key parameters on the basis of which these cities made a mark are connectivity, property prices, corporate activities, real estate investments, economic output, and human resource.
Reportedly, Indian cities are performing well in the short-term index, and it is expected that the momentum remains the same when long-term investments projects are taken.
