“I love going on biking tours with hubby”
Travel plan: I’m a very spontaneous traveller but now with family, I have started prebooking and scheduling a lot of our vacations with much thought going into what would be easy and fun for the kids.
Travel style: What I love about my husband is that he is open to trying new things. So it needn’t be a luxurious holiday always. What matters more is the vibe of the place.
Must-pack items: I always carry my small medical kit, mini snacks on the go and a few things like a raincoat/umbrella, a mosquito repellent, sunscreen, a recyclable shopping bag and small backpack.
A travel lesson I have learnt: Always keep your valuables close to you in a separate pouch and not in your bag. Also separate money, never keep all your money and belongings in one bag. I love a little hip pouch so I’m always safe in case I lose a bag – I have lost it in the past and had a really difficult time.
Funniest or scariest travel moment: Funniest travel moment was when I was in a little place in North of England called Coleman Bay. I really thought I was in the middle of nowhere and it was the most surreal experience to be on the edge of a mountain. Suddenly I heard a DDLJ song and there was this Indian couple enacting Shah Rukh and Kajol, dancing around, singing to each other!
Travel gear: I’m all about comfort when I travel. Walking shoes are a must. I always carry hats and since my hubby and I like to bike when not travelling with kids, we always carry our motorcycling gear.
Travel goals: I definitely want to go to Antarctica; I’ve being waiting to go to South America – so many places to visit there like Peru, Brazil, Chile. I can’t wait to explore that part of the world.
Solo travel: Has to be Amsterdam. Before I got married I had so much fun there. It’s such a cool place and safe too. Holiday with friends |Greece, because my sister lives there – so I know all the islands, plus I know my way around. Best weekend getaway | Chikmagalur in south India. Family holiday | I’m big fan of America and just love going there with my family. l Next stop | We are off to Japan very soon. My son is obsessed with the bullet train and must give him a ride on it! His best friend is a Japanese, we will be visiting them so it makes it even more special.
