A visit to Mostar in Bosnia is essential if you are in Dubrovnik. It is located at a comfortable distance of around 140 km. It takes about 3 hours by road to reach the beautiful town. Mostar gets its name from Stari Most, which when translated means Old Bridge. The Old Bridge, along with the surrounding landscape, is a treat for the eyes. It is a visual delight, which inspires awe and wonder in most tourists. Stari Most was built in the 16th century and is acknowledged as Mostar's architectural highlight. It connects both sides of the city across the Neretva River. Another place you need to visit is the Koski Mehmed Paša Mosque—a beautiful mausoleum. For a small fee, one can enter the mosque and then climb its steep and narrow stairs, for a gorgeous view of the city. But a visit to Mostar is not all about its historical and architectural wonders. Street art is found in abundance all over Mostar—young artists have done a great job of using the city walls as canvases. Just walking through Mostar's Old Town on the cobblestone lanes or enjoying a rich Bosnian coffee at a riverside cafe, can be a good enough reason to go for a weekend trip to this quaint old town. Make sure you make a quick pit stop at the Bruce Lee statue in Zrinjevac Park—people love getting photos clicked with the martial arts hero.Refrain from posting comments that are obscene, defamatory or inflammatory, and do not indulge in personal attacks, name calling or inciting hatred against any community.
