Himachal Pradesh weather forecast hints at more rain, snowfall

More intense cold waves are in the offing for the state of Himachal Pradesh as per the Indian Meteorological Department. As per the predictions, temperature will continue to stay freezing, with more snowfall and cold winds sweeping over the stay for the weekend. While a number of places including Chamba, Dalhousie, Manali, Shimla, Kufri and Solang saw fresh snow, Keylong in the upper reaches touched a very numbing -17 on Monday. Reports further state that the ongoing cold wave is likely to continue for the coming days as well.

Curently, Keylong is the coldest place in the state; Shimla too touched a freezing 0.2 degrees, it was also all decked in snow on Friday. While Kufri shivered at 3.8, Dalhousie at 1.5, Palampur at 0.5 and Dharamsala at 2.1 degree Celsius.
Further predictions by the Met office hint at the weather staying quite cold for the coming days; the Western disturbance that is causing the cold wave would be more active towards the end of January. Apart from Himachal, a number of regions in Uttarakhand, especially Uttarkashi, are also reeling under severe cold and heavy snowfall.
