Himachal Pradesh is soon going to be an ecotourism destination

Himachal Pradesh tourism is looking to get an upgrade in ecotourism, as the Himachal Pradesh government is planning to develop 113 sites as destinations for ecotourism. The government will develop nature parks and herbal gardens in order to achieve this.
The state Forest Department, along with Ecotourism Society of Himachal Pradesh organised a two-day international conference on Ecotourism Potential in Himachal Pradesh, and decided that a total of 25 new destinations will be developed by constructing log huts. These eco-tourism hubs in Himachal Pradesh is probably going to be developed by this fiscal year. Also, there will be 10 places developed for adventure activities, and 31 circuits for ecotourism, all of which would be first approved by the central government. In addition to these, 50 forest rest houses are also being added to start ecotourism activities in the state.


The government is looking to call tourists to explore its virgin destinations and help rural areas get an increased economic activity. The state of Himachal Pradesh has tremendous potential in tourism, as Union Minister K.J. Alphons noted, and also said that entrepreneurs should involve themselves in developing the potential of tourism in Himachal Pradesh.
The state of Himachal Pradesh is known for numerous destinations, especially visited during the summer months. Its beautiful hill stations include Shimla, Dharamshala, Kasauli, and Dalhousie, among others. Himachal Pradesh is also popular as a trekking destination.
