Goa and Bali are the most preferred domestic and international destinations for Indians for monsoon travel. As per press reports, these two destinations topped the chart for being the most searched for destinations among the Indians, regardless of any seasonal travel challenges.While, traditionally, monsoon season is not considered to be a preferred time to travel, monsoon travel is rapidly gaining popularity and even occupies a significant place in annual tourism calendar.
Reportedly, other destinations that followed Goa and Bali in the chart of most searched places were London, Singapore, Paris, United Kingdom and Pattaya. Reports further revealed that New York featured at the sixth position, and Indians wanting to escape the monsoons in India love to fly to this international destination.

The findings also suggest that the manner in which Indians are searching for new locations, reflects that Indians are steadily moving away from the tried and tested holidays and are vying to explore new and fresh destinations that offer unique and new experiences. Some other preferred International destinations for Indians are Edinburgh in Scotland, Moscow in Russia, Mykonos in Greece, and Florence in Italy
On the domestic front, Goa is the uncontested winner, followed by Mumbai, New Delhi, Candolim in Goa, and Udaipur in Rajasthan. Also Thiruvananthapuram, Munnar, Jaipur in Rajasthan, Srinagar and Leh in Jammu and Kashmir feature in the list.
