The erstwhile separate districts of Lahaul and Spiti merged into one and it is one of the most-visited and loved tourist destinations in Himachal Pradesh today. Lahaul-Spiti is one of the least populated districts in India. It may look barren and almost alien at times in Lahaul-Spiti, but it is also the best feature of the district.

Chandra Tal
Located in Spiti, Chandra Tal is one of the most beautiful high altitude lakes in the country. High altitude trekkers and biking enthusiasts find this place irresistible.
Kunzum Pass
Located at an altitude of 4,551 metres, Kunzum Pass is the gateway to Spiti Valley. It is one of the highest motorable passes in India. Also called Kunzum La, the mountain pass connects Spiti and Lahaul.
Dhankar Gompa
This 16th-century fort monastery is one of the most scenic monasteries or gompas in India. Did you know that the monastery is also a village? The monastery has some of the most dramatic backdrops and is a photographer’s delight.
Khatpas
The hoodoos or the khatpas makes the place look so alien-like but stunning at the same time. The Dhankar monastery is surrounded by these interesting rock formations. These are caused by snow erosion.
Key Gompa
With dramatic backdrops, Key Gompa is one of the most photogenic places you will come across in Lahaul-Spiti. This is the place where hundreds of lamas receive their religious training. Visit this monastery for the beautiful Buddhist art and culture.
Langza Village
Here you will find the large Langza Buddha Statue, one of the most prominent tourist attractions in the region. Also, Langza is famously known as the Fossil Village for you guessed it, fossils that are found here. You will find these marine fossils in Langza and neighbouring villages.
Lahaul Village
Lahaul Valley is one of the main centres of Tibetan Buddhism. Also, a lot greener than Spiti, the difference in scenery between Lahaul and Spiti is fascinating.
