The north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh has taken a new initiatives to boost tourism. According to the latest news report, the state government will now deploy tourism police to promote tourism. Pema Khandu, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, lately launched tourist police spread across the seven districts in the state.
Taking about the USP of Arunachal Pradesh, the minister said that the Himalayas located in the state are ideal for undertaking unique road trips. She further assures that the state government is committed to facilitate tourism and adventure tourism since it helps in generating employment and gathering investment.
Reportedly, the tourism police will have special uniform, vehicles, and they are trained in soft skills, languages, and regulations. The police force will also be trained to be people-friendly so that tourists feel at ease while approaching them for guidance.
Also, the tourism police staff will be well trained in dealing with crime against women. They will get trained to professionally respond to different situations involving tourists. They will be informed about the local tourist places and modes of transport, tourist accommodations, and hospitals, among other things.
An app called Arunachal Suraksha tourist police has also been launched.
