If you want to get out of the city with kids, there is no better place than Drumheller, the land of dinosaurs. First, head to the land of the hoodoos, which are tall land formations found in the badlands. They are eerie looking formations, almost as if they have come from another planet. The hoodoos are located along the Hoodoo Trail and have paths built around them so that families can walk around and explore these crazy looking formations, just don’t forget your camera. Next, head to the Royal Tyrrell Museum where Canada’s largest collection of dinosaur fossils is on display and there is plenty of opportunities to explore. Watch as real palaeontologists work, wander through the great halls of actual fossils and learn more about these prehistoric creatures. Kids won’t want to miss out on climbing to the top of the world’s largest dinosaur, located beside the Drumheller Visitor Information Centre. Between fossil shops, dinosaur laser tag, bumper boats and mini-golf, there is no shortage of dinosaur themed activities to keep every kid interested all day long.
