The Hauz Khas Complex came about during the reign of Alauddin Khilji, back in the 14th century. The centrepiece is the Hauz Khas Tank, a water reservoir built to supply water to the nearby Siri Fort. The adjacent Firoz Shah's Tomb and the remnants of the madrasa provide a tranquil escape from the urban chaos.

Adjacent to the historic complex lies Hauz Khas Village, a pretty interesting enclave that has undergone a remarkable transformation over time. Few decades ago, this was a semi-urban village; now, it is a hip neighbourhood where you will find all things creative.
Evenings are alive with art galleries, boutiques, cafes, and bars that promise a bustling nightlife. And just outside the village, you will see graffiti-covered walls, giving the whole place an artsy and offbeat charm.
