Coronavirus in India—75 districts in India go under lockdown until March 31, 2020

As Coronavirus grips India, reports are coming in that 75 districts are now going under lockdown until March 31, 2020. With more than 340 cases of COVID-19 in the country, the administration took this decision after conducting a high level meeting.
The districts identified for this lockdown are those where confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported. The decision has been made in order to contain the spread of the disease any further. Additionally, interstate bus services have also been suspended until March 31, 2020. The decision was made to put restrictions on non-essential passenger transport till March 31, 2020.

However, this also means that only essential services will operate in these districts. The districts have been selected from states such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. The list of districts under lockdown could be expanded as and when required.

On the day of Janta Curfew, millions of Indians stayed indoors, and contributed to the fight against the coronavirus. As of today India has reported seven deaths due to the coronavirus, with Gujarat reporting its first death.

West Bengal on the other hand reportedly decided to close its restaurants, pubs, bars, nightclubs, hookah bars, massage parlours, amusement parks, museums, and zoos starting today, until March 31, 2020.
