As India moves to a second lockdown, airline companies in India are giving important notices regarding their operations. According to reports, Vistara will resume its flight services in a phased manner starting May 4, 2020. May 3 is the last day of the second lockdown in India. At the same time, the airline has also asked a third of its staff to take three days of leave without pay in order to manage its costs during this period of lockdown.
A statement from Vistara said, "We will make every effort to protect the health safety of our customers and staff, following all regulatory guidelines as well as by adopting certain important, stringent preventive measures proactively."
Vistara employees have been asked to take three days unpaid leave between April 1 and April 14.
Yet again, airlines in India have asked passengers to opt for rescheduling of their flights instead of a refund. The same was asked during the first phase of the lockdown. It is important that you find out from your airlines the rules of rescheduling, for example, Vistara is offering rescheduling free-of-charge, until December 31, 2020.
