Andhra Pradesh to have world’s largest war memorial

The Indian state of Andhra Pradesh is in news for all the good reasons these days. Apparently, the southern state is fast going notch by notch as a tourism destination by introducing several infrastructural developments within its geographical boundaries.
Reportedly, the Andhra Pradesh government will be coming up with the world’s largest war memorial featuring a 250 ft statue of an Indian Army soldier and 200 ft bedecked bronze ring to be built encircling a massive statue of Buddha, in its capital city Amravati. This initiative on part of the state government aims in boosting tourism.

A 2-km-long and 80-ft-wide traffic free stretch along the river Krishna, named as the Bund Street or Destination Street, will connect the two statues. This new concept will have residential hotels, theme parks, food courts and river-side restaurants. Furthermore, iconic plate-shaped convention centre and bubble malls selling Asian wares, and an aquarium on both side of the Krishna River will bud up at the site.


The MoU for the special 6,100 crore project has been already signed at the CII Partnership summit. The AP Economic Development Board (APEDB) and Smartparks Infra Project Private Limited, represented by its managing director Srinivas Tavva, will be jointly taking care of this project.

As per the MoU, the Bund Street or Destination Street will become the unexampled street tourism destination especially made to lure more and more domestic and international tourists.

With the successful completion of the Vijaywada-Amaravati Hyperloop and the Bund Street Destination project, Andhra Pradesh would surely have its tourism objective fulfilled.
