Discovering the blue lagoon and river – there is good news and bad news. Bad news is that to reach Rio Celeste, it requires a little bit of hike on a not-so-easy, but well-marked and maintained trail. Well, that does add to the charm getting-yourself-dirty on a hike. The good news, the inaccessibility of this place makes the visit worth it because of the peace, quiet, and being far from the madding crowd. The end to end hike to the place is roughly 7 km long. Carry your swim wear and a towel. Also, there is an entry fee to be paid at the entrance in cash. A sturdy pair of shoes is a must as the hike first takes you to the bottom of the waterfall, from where you have to hike up, to spot the very beautiful, very pristine location. It is amongst thick rainforest trees, under the shade of the divine Rio Celeste - a blue river! Celeste in Spanish refers to the sky, or the colour sky blue.
