The fertile plains of Bolaven Plateau have long been known for the high quality coffee plantations during the French colonization. The region is also appealing for its cooler climates. Take a day excursion from Pakse and visit the area full of pristine waterfalls against scenic backdrops. The dirt treks are ideal for a day long biking adventure to the waterfalls of Tad Lo. The Bolaven Plateau is dotted with villages home to ethnic minority tribes. The excursion into villages gives an opportunity to interact with the tribesmen over a home cooked meal. Being in easy reach from Pakse and availability of resorts with basic amenities, Bolaven has evolved as a backpacker’s paradise. Cruise along the dirt trails and cool off in waters of countless waterfalls. The small lake area is home to a fishing community. Reminisce over the scenic splendour of the country while strolling around in coffee plantations.
