Italy is all about sugar, spice and basically everything nice. It is a reservoir of prodigious sights and a dwelling of perpetual wonder. If someone is keen on exploring every nook and cranny of the country, even a hundred trips wouldn’t suffice and the Italians do take pride in that fact; just the way they complacently rule the culinary world. However, one of the many feathers in Italy’s cap, the one that stands out the most, is the coast. This extraordinary boot-shaped nation is surrounded by azure waters of the Mediterranean, Adriatic, Ligurian, Ionian and Tyrrhenian on three sides while a part clings on to the giant European land mass, never letting go. From the perfect Italian Riviera to the Sicilian beaches, a fascinating Puglia to the seaside marvels of Tuscany, timeless landscapes are only waiting to be explored. These coastal towns are all about ancient ruins, delectable food in the form of the saltiest of fishes, the sweetest of wines and the nuttiest of cheese, the pearls of Italian art and unblemished beaches, as a matter of course. The rocky harbours and sea cliffs stand like citadels, guarding all the treasure that this country is a proud possessor of. While the lemon groves, intimidating volcanoes, intricate glass sculptures, translucent waters and fine grains of sand will do everything to keep you enthralled, the tales of how a beautiful, fabled city is gradually being swallowed by the sea will make your heart sink into the unknown territories of your being. Forget everything else and take off to this idyllic heaven. Blissfully get lost in the long winding roads and the olive trees. You will discover yourself; you will meet someone you’ve seen all along but never met before. This is exactly what Italy does to people; it surprises them at every step.
