Reportedly, contact-free self-check kiosks, self drop bag facilities, and non-intrusive thermal cameras have been implemented at the airport along with other facilities. The hygiene rules also focus on how to minimise risk of infection while travelling in a taxi to or from the airport.
According to latest reports, Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) had formerly announced that it will see to it that passenger taxis are cleaned and drivers are screened at the start of every trip to check for possibilities of infection. In addition, a statement issued by the BIAL said that taxi drivers have been asked to keep distance from the passengers. Stress will be laid on the usage of hand sanitiser and masks to cover the mouth.
The statement also advised able-bodied passengers to load their luggage into the vehicle on their own. On the other hand, the driver will assist in loading the luggage in case of elderly passengers or those with limited mobility whilst taking care of hygiene precautions.
The masks have been made mandatory for both drivers as well as passengers during the trip.
