Alwar City Palace

Currently housing a number of government offices, the Alwar City Palace is a magnificent complex, also known as the Vinay Vilas Mahal.
Originally built in 1793, the Alwar City Palace is a stunning amalgamation of Rajputana and Mughal styles of architecture. Its grand halls are currently functioning as the offices of District Collectorate and Police Headquarters. The pillars in the Alwar City Palace create a stunning pattern.

Elegant chhatris alongside Mughal floral designs embellish the City Palace, and the result is a mixture of styles to create a stunning monument. As you walk upstairs, the incredibly beautiful sight of graceful marble pavilions is in front of you. There are water fountains before the main entrance to the City Palace.
The doors and corridors are fascinating and appear even more beautiful when the sun casts a golden hue at the time of sunset. A stairway flanked by two marble kiosks leads the visitor to the gorgeous Durbar Hall and Sheesh Mahal; special permission is required to see these two hidden delights. On the top floor, the Alwar City Palace museum is located. It is maintained by the ASI and contains many ancient treasures.
