The Canfranc Railway Station is one of the most hauntingly beautiful abandoned railway stations in the world could come back to life to woo travellers. Located in Spain, close to the border with France, this beautiful old-world-railway station first opened in 1928. Its inauguration ceremony was a grand affair, with the then King of Spain, Alfonso XIII, and the then President of the French Republic in attendance. It used to be called the Titanic of the Mountains back in the old days.
The Canfranc Railway Station is now owned by the local Aragon government, Spain, and it is of their view that opening the railway line could be of great help to people.
According to reports, the train station is probably going to be up and running by the end of this year, and even though the border is closed due to COVID-19 pandemic, the local government is on track with the development of the station. There are even talks about a hotel that will stand beside the railway station.
