A similar incident has been reported from Mahadeva village in Madhubani town of Bihar. According to the reports, an unidentified object with magnetic qualities and weighing 15 kg has been found in the village. The object is guessed to be a meteorite and has been kept at a museum in Patna.
Reportedly, the object crashed in the fields of Mahadeva village under Laukahi block, causing a three-foot hole in the ground. The incident came to notice on Monday while some farmers were working in the rice fields. They heard a loud thud as if a heavy object has fallen from the sky.
Meanwhile, the concerned authorities are investigating the object to determine whether or not it is a meteorite. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told the press that the object will be moved to the science museum later.
Meteors falling on the Earth have been reported in 2016 (Tamil Nadu) and in 2013 (Russia).
