The Bhratrihari Temple is much revered by the locals and is believed to be more than 1000 years old. It houses the samadhi of Bhratrihari, the erstwhile ruler of Ujjain. He renounced his kingdom and came to this spot to meditate in the dense jungle of Aravallis. The present temple is quite big and sees a steady trickle of worshippers.
The disciples of Baba Bhartrihari have kept a lamp alight ceaselessly and the evening aarti at Bhratrihari Temple is a divine experience. Bhartrihari temple is located around 10 km from the Sariska Tiger Reserve. There are many shops near the temple which seems to be in the midst of a dense forest with lush greenery around.
