California’s famous ‘Daffodil Hill’ to shut down for indefinite time, thanks to overtourism

Overtourism is becoming a major problem undoubtedly! A number of countries, in order to save their precious natural attractions, have closed their doors on tourists, and now California too has joined the list. The US state of California has decided to close its renowned ‘Daffodil Hill’ for indefinite time, all thanks to the overflowing number of tourists here.
Also, social media platforms are highly responsible for over tourism, thanks to ‘so-called-influencers’. The recent addition to this situation is McLaughlin's Daffodil Hill in the Volcano region of California. Considered one of the most Instagram-worthy locations, Daffodil Hill is one gorgeous location perfect those who love nature.

As the name suggests, this place is renowned for its lush yellow daffodils that give this entire region a surreal look! But the flower-loving social media influencers have ruined everything for this beautiful place with over tourism.
So now the family that runs and takes care of this picture-perfect place has decided to close the daffodil field for an indefinite period, reason being that there is not enough space for parking, also road infrastructure is not in order to keep up with so many people.

The number of visitors in the region has gone up especially this last year. In the announcement to shut the place, it was mentioned that “Many visitors to park their vehicles along the narrow roadways and walk through traffic to the Hill. These vehicles were parked illegally on the roadway, which would have impeded any emergency vehicles that needed to access the Hill area.”
