Second to the Amazon, the Congo Basin is the world's second-largest tropical rainforest, and covers an area of approximately 3.7 million square kilometers in Central Africa. The forest is spread across Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, and is home to approximately 10, 000 species of plants and the elusive and endangered mountain gorilla.
Valdivian Temperate Rainforest, Chile and Argentina
Spread across Chile and Argentina, this temperate rainforest, is a unique mix of evergreen and deciduous trees. The forest, spanning across 248,100 sq km, is home to some of the most diverse landscapes and ancient trees.
Taiga, Russia and Canada

The Daintree Rainforest is situated in Queensland, Australia. It is the largest continuous area of tropical rainforest in the country. Daintree Rainforest is one of the most visually stunning places in the country. The forest is home to some of the most unique plant and animal species.
Great Bear Rainforest, Canada
This temperate rainforest is located along the central and northern coast of British Columbia, Canada. The forest covers an area of around 6.4 million hectares, and is home to some of the rarest animal species in the world. The forest is home to the rare white Kermode or spirit bear, grizzly bear and salmon.
Black Forest, Germany

Yakushima, Japan
Some of the cedar trees in Yakushima are over 1000 years old. This ancient forest is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are designated paths inside the forest so that visitors can take a walk around and see the island's lush forests, moss-covered rocks, and ancient trees.
