Spectacular rainforest views for those with a head for heights

Noteworthy for: Entry is discounted during 'twilight time' after 5pm during the winter months. For many, it's the most magical time to visit.
Word to the wise: Avoid this attraction on a foggy day, when views will be limited.

Stretching 140 meters across (and 70 metres above) the Capilano River ravine, this suspension bridge comes straight out of Middle Earth. The bridge, located in North Vancouver, has a wooden platform with metal, chain-link fences on either side ensuring you don't tumble over, but sparing you no amount of terror as the bridge sways beneath your feet. To really get the adrenaline pumping, walk across alone.
If the bridge doesn't beat you, try the Cliffwalk, another heart-stopping 'stroll', this time along a forested, granite precipice hundreds of meters above sea level - a bit like the Ewok village in 'Return of the Jedi'. There is also a gift shop and cafe, where you can grab a stiff drink to calm still-shaking hands.

The entrance fee includes both attractions. It's expensive for what it is, but even locals agree its worth it. If you're not convinced, there's a cheaper option nearby in Lynn Canyon.
