An old-world bar, knee-deep in Irish tradition, Fibber Magee is another nightlife staple. For a spot of traditional-evening drinking and dancing, Magee is, as the locals say, ‘the genuine article’. Traditional musicians play up a storm, accompanied by bodhrans, fiddles and pipes. Typically, a soiree driven by folk song is accompanied by some feasting to accompany your pint. Traditionally, Irish Stew with a fresh crusty roll and battered cod & chips make fitting accompaniments. If you’re with friends and engaging in a hearty gab (or some storytelling) with regular patrons, this is as Irish as an evening on the town can get.
