Among the newer bars in the city, Bar Tonique prides itself for its handcrafted cocktails. Located on North Rampart Street, almost at the edge of the French Quarter, the bar is removed both literally and metaphorically from the chaos and drama of the Quarter. This has probably helped it focus on its drinks, which it does rather superlatively, and is probably why it has a loyal local clientele. The drinks menu is rather expansive and is separated into various categories. Alongside the classics, it has such ones as East India Cocktail, Rampart, and Blood and Sand. It is also popular for its $5 drinks, which changes every day and includes Pimms Cup, and Bloody Mary.
