The times they are a-changin’ but it is human nature to reminisce and find comfort in the past. However, very often, in our quest for progress, we forget to make an effort to safeguard our antique treasures and the many strands of our genesis. In order to satiate our collective fondness for antiquity, it is imperative that we conserve our cultural and historical facets and to that effect, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) lists culturally significant sites all over the globe and takes up elaborate measures to preserve them. The idea is to pass on the legacy to future generations considering the exclusivity and diversity of the gifts our planet has to offer, in the form of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Europe has since time immemorial been a storehouse of ancient gems. Every part of the continent is deeply entrenched in art and history. UNESCO has therefore uncovered over two hundred valuable sites in Europe that need to be guarded like a trophy for the world to see. While there is no doubting the fact that all of the landmass is beautiful, there are certain European cities that are slightly more refined. Following 15 cities have the most amazing historic centres listed by UNESCO and drawing a list is therefore inevitable.
