Getting there:
Hopping on to a ferry from Naples is the fastest and cheapest way to get to Amalfi and the entire coastal region. From Mollo Beverello port in Naples, there are ferry services that take you to Sorrento. From there, you could catch another ferry to Amalfi. Cars are also available for rent and the route predictably is scenic. The price, however, is a little on the higher side and therefore not suitable for backpackers.
